FreeMarket represented a major challenge for us: design an SF RPG based on an original IP, one with its roots in cyberpunk and transhumanist SF and in current technological advances and discoveries in fields as diverse as nanotechnology, neuroscience, sociology and astrophysics. It’s also one of the few RPGs in existence where the goal is to make friends, cooperate and donate.
FreeMarket was released as a lavishly produced boxed set (limited to 1000 copies) containing a paperback book, six custom decks of playing cards, tokens, player hand outs and pads of sheets for character and group record keeping. It was recently featured as one of the best non-electronic gaming products of 2010 by MTV and Ogre Cave and was nominated for the Diana Jones Award for Gaming Excellence.
